Description
Mahogany seed flat oval. The Philippine mahogany or sometimes called lauan is one of what is considered a true mahogany just like the African mahogany, New Zealand mahogany, Indonesian mahogany and a few others. Mahogany tree produces fruits/pods that are very sturdy. Be careful not to be under the mahogany tree when this dried fruit falls off the tree. Dried pods are cut and shaped to desired shapes. The seeds are shaped into rounds or tubes and drilled through to make beads.
