Description
Kukui nut – marble color with brown bow. Our kukui seeds are from the Philippines. These nuts locally known as lumbang, are usually strung to make leis. They come in various colors, black, yellowish beige with brown streaks, cream, and brown strung in bows or ribbons. In ancient Hawaii, kukui nuts were burned to provide lights. This is probably why this nut is also called candlenuts.
