Burnt horn fishhook small. Burnt horn comes from the black horn of the water buffalo known locally carabao in the Philippines. After the pieces are hand cut. Drilled, strung and shaped, the burnt color is done by slightly running a blow torch on the beads. Depending on the shade preferred, color shade can be light tan to dark brown. Because of the natural luster when polished, horn is a very versatile component used to incorporate with different types of materials in jewelry. Note that the horn is a byproduct of the food industry.
