horn beads are made from Philippine
carabao horns —very dense and lightweight. They can be polished to a high glossy finish.
Design Tip: Golden horn beads look as good as natural amber, and cheaper, too.
* The Philippine water buffalo (carabao) is a commonly raised livestock in the agricultural region s of the Philippines. This black lowly beast has been used to plow farm lands since the ancient times. It's also a good source of meat and milk. Because of its unique streangth and color, carabao horns are also used in carvings, weapons & cutlery handles, and jewelry.
