Quartz

Quartz is a very hard mineral composed of silica, found worldwide in many different types of rocks, including sandstone and granite. Varieties of quartz include agate, chalcedony, cherry, flint, opal, and rock crystal. Rutilated Quartz is clear or cloudy quartz with silver, red, gold or copper colored needles. Rose Quartz is a soothing, calming stone. It is one of the most desirable varieties of quartz. The color is caused by iron and titanium impurities. Quartz makes up most of the sand of the seashore. Smoky Quartz is a transparent/semi-transparent brown or gray to nearly black variety of quartz. Quartz is a very hard mineral. Quartz makes up most of the sand of the seashore.
